Volvo’s 90-series flagship range to get new model soon

Volvo’s 90-series has been the flagship of the Swedish automaker’s range since the 1990s when it replaced the 900-series. The most significant of the series has been the XC90, which was Volvo’s first SUV when it was launched in 2002.

Today, the 90-series consists of 5 models, with the XC90, S90 and V90 being legacy models while the EX90 and EM90 (only sold in China) are the latest fully electric models. While the EX90 will soon be introduced in Malaysia, Volvo Cars is preparing to add another new model – the ES90.

The new ES90 is software-defined and based on a single set of hardware and software modules which will be used for all future electric Volvo modekls. Equipped with a dual NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin configuration, the ES90 will be the most powerful car Volvo ever created in terms of core computing capacity.
