Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has repriced the Touareg R-Line SUV to RM382,690 from the RM472,272 pricetag it was launched with last year. According to the company, the adjustment comes ‘in response to positive developments in Volkswagen’s local operations and a range of favourable market dynamics, allowing the savings to be passed on to customers’.
The flagship of the local VW range is assembled at the HICOM Automotive Manufacturers (Malaysia) plant in Pekan, Pahang. Only one powertrain is available – a 3-litre turbocharged V6 producing 340 ps/450 Nm.
Advanced technologies
Technologically advanced, the Touareg R-Line comes with Volkswagen’s IQ LIGHT HD MATRIX headlights. Said to be one of the best lighting systems in the world, this highly intelligent lighting system uses more than 38,000 interactive micro-LEDs to maximise and optimise illumination of the road.
Also standard in the Malaysian version are automatic self-levelling air suspension, and a 730W Dynaudio sound system. The SUV is one of the few in Malaysia with standard Night Vision, which is part of the IQ.Drive advanced driver-assistance suite.
VAP for peace of mind
For customers who want additional peace of mind in the longer term, the Volkswagen Assurance Package (VAP) is available for at an additional RM17,300. With VAP, owners will get 5 years of free schedule maintenance, an extended 5-year manufacturer’s warranty and roadside assistance during the first 5 years of ownership.
