Updated versions of the Kia EV6 and Sportage have been unveiled at the 2024 Los Angeles Auto Show. Both models have stronger interpretations of the Korean automaker’s ‘Opposites United ‘design language.
The EV6 gets a battery with greater capacity of 63 kWh battery as standard, with an 84 kWh size also available. The 63 kWh battery is said to give a range of up to 514 kms. The most powerful version (EV6 GT) now has an output of 649 ps/770 Nm with GT mode in use.
The Sportage, Kia’s longest running model line, is available with either an ICE (combustion engine only), hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrain. The Sportage ICE is a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder unit while the HEV and PHEV versions use 1.6-litre turbocharged engines. The PHEV is said to have an all-electric range of 55 kms, with a total range of almost 700 kms.
