With a total sales volume of over 8,000 units for another month and cumulative sales up to 48,659 units at the end of June, UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) is cementing its dominant position in the market this year. The cumulative volume represents a significant 6% increase compared to the volume achieved in the first six months of 2022.
The strong sales are helped by a comprehensive range of models covering many different segments, including pick-up trucks where Toyota has been the leading brand for many years.
New MPV models
In June, its Innova MPV range also gained an additional and completely new variant – the Innova Zenix. Besides using the TNGA platform, the new Zenix is also available with a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) powertrain like the Corolla Cross.
For those who want luxury MPVs, UMW Toyota Motor now offers the latest Alphard and Vellfire with upgraded powertrains and advanced luxury features. The company has announced the prices (excluding insurance) as RM538,000 for the Alphard 2.4T Executive Lounge, and RM438,000 for Vellfire 2.5.
GR GT Cup Malaysia
This month will also see the 6th Season of the GR GT Cup Malaysia (formerly GR Velocity Esports Championship) online racing series being run. It is one of the most lucrative local eSports events in the country with cash prizes amounting to RM90,000 this year. The semi-finals will commence on July 15,2023 and the finals are scheduled to take place on August 19 and 20.
