Toyota Yaris 1.5G Limited launched, only 600 units

The Toyota Yaris, a popular B-segment hatchback in the local market, gets updates for the 2024 model which is now available in a G Limited spec. This new version joins the 1.5E and 1.5G versions which were launched in 2019.

Unlike the other two versions, only 600 units of the Yaris G Limited (hence the ‘limited’) which provides a measure of exclusivity. The price of RM99,600 (without insurance) is RM8,000 more than the Yaris 1.5G, while the Yaris 15E is priced from RM88,000. [Click here for pricelist]

For the extra money, the Yaris 1.5G Limited comes with a sporty 2-Tone exterior colour scheme package, identifying itself to the world with a LIMITED emblem. The 2-tone scheme has a black roof and is available with the Red Mica Metallic or Platinum White Pearl finishes. There is also an exclusive aerokit to improve aerodynamics.

The powertrain is similar to the other two versions, with a proven Toyota 2NR-FE 1.5-litre DOHC engine with Dual VVT-i. For smoother, more linear starts, there is an Engine Integrated Control unit, while the enhanced Flex Lock-Up Control helps save fuel when decelerating. Besides a cold air intake to amplify the intake of oxygen-rich fuel,  there is also a throttle controller to Improve the pedal input to output ratio.

All variants come with a 7-speed Sport Sequential Shiftmatic transmission which can be managed with paddle shifters. This has a manual mode to allow the driver to make selections of the 7 speeds in the CVT for quicker response. A Drive Mode Switch allows the driver to prioritise fuel efficiency or stronger performance.

The stiff chassis has its performance enhanced with performance accessories such as a strut bar, chassis brace and stiffer shock absorbers. These extras should please those who looking to push the Yaris to the limit.

Interior features are similar to those of the Yaris 1.5G, with a revised steering wheel design and new 4.2-inch Multi-information Display (MID). Automatic air-conditioning is standard, along with an electrochromic rearview mirror. To further assist the drive in manoeuvring the car is the 3D Panoramic View Monitor.

Assembled locally at UMW Toyota Motor’s own factory in Selangor, the Yaris 1.5G Limited comes with a vehicle warranty of 5 years and no limit on mileage. Additionally, there is a 1-year/20,000 km warranty on the performance parts.
