Toyota Hiace SLWB Window Van to be launched soon

The Toyota Hiace is a familiar sight on Malaysian roads and can be said to be the ‘inspiration’ for the lookalike window vans from China as the model line has been around for decades. Besides recently announcing an updated Hiace panel van with a new engine, UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) will soon also add a new window van version to the range, priced from RM169,000.

This is the Hiace Super Long Wheelbase (SLWB) Window Van which is designed as a 10-seat people-carrier. Below its modern bodyshell with a length of 5915 mm and width of 1950 mm is a spacious wheelbase of 3860 mm, allowing for more space and therefore comfort in the cabin.

The Hiace is powered by a proven 2.8-litre 1GD-FTV turbodiesel engine with an output of 177 ps/450 Nm. Drivers will appreciate its 6-speed Automatic transmission for easier driving around town. When necessary, the Sequential Shift mode can be used to manually select gears.

Useful features include a Sliding Doorstep Lamp and built-in Front Digital Video Recorder, while all 10 occupants get 3-point seatbelts.

The new Hiace window van will be launched in the near future and bookings are now accepted at authorised Toyota dealerships nationwide.
