The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest (DCAC) is on again and invites children to present their idea of the future of mobility. This is the 18th edition of the global contest which is held in many countries, including Malaysia which been participating since 2013.
It sees strong participation and for the previous contest, some 710,000 submissions were received from children in 90 countries.
Organised by Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), the contest aims to inspire children to think creatively and dream about the future. It also serves as a platform for Toyota distributors worldwide to engage with their local communities and strengthen customer connections.
The 18th DCAC has ‘Your Dream Car’ as the theme and is open to children in three age groups:
- Group 1: 7 years old and under;
- Group 2: 8 to 11 years old; and
- Group 3: 12 to 15 years old
This year’s contest provides an opportunity for children to explore both hand-drawn and digital artwork, giving them the freedom to use a wide range of materials and techniques. Submissions can be in A3 format or provided as high-resolution digital files in JPG or PNG format. There are no charges for participating.
Following the closing date on January 31, 2025 and local judging, the top 9 entries from Malaysia (three from each category) will be sent to TMC to compete in the global World Contest, with the final winners to be announced in August 2025 by the automaker. Each category will have three top winners (Gold, Silver, and Bronze) and two consolation prizes.
“The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest is more than just a competition. It’s an opportunity for children to explore their creativity and envision a better future through mobility. We are thrilled for the return of this contest, as it continues to inspire young minds to dream big and think about how their ideas can shape tomorrow’s world. At UMW Toyota Motor, we believe in fostering innovation and building connections with the younger generation, and this contest reflects that commitment,” said Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMW Toyota Motor.
