The Dubai Police Force, well known for its very expensive supercars and exotic cars (which includes a Bugatti Veyron), doesn’t have it yet but if they do intend to add a Tesla Cybertruck to their fleet, UP.FIT has one ready for them.
The American company (part of Unplugged Performance), which specialises in preparing Teslas for use by law enforcement agencies, has developed the world’s first Cybertruck Patrol vehicle. It has used its experience of the past 11 years enhancing, and racing Tesla vehicles to transform the Cybertruck’s revolutionary platform for specialty use.
This cutting-edge platform represents a significant leap forward in first-responder vehicle solutions, setting a new standard for safety, efficiency, and innovation. Combining the unique stainless-steel exoskeleton, sportscar grade on-road capabilities, and the most advanced safety technologies has proven enticing to fleet operators.
Revealed recently, the Cybertruck Next-Gen Patrol vehicle has attracted attention by agencies around America looking to enhance their patrol capabilities. It features the expected suite of warning lights, sirens, PA system, as well as upgraded radio and computer systems, thanks to specialized wiring systems and proprietary integrations.
The Cybertruck can be customized for tactical, military or search and rescue missions with optional prisoner partitions, storage for weapons and specialty tools, and K9 enclosures. The vehicle dynamics can be upgraded with specialized UP.FIT Forged wheel and tyre packages, braking systems, along with upgrades for extreme off-road usage, as well as Starlink internet connectivity.
The company said that a recent report by a police department indicated that use of Tesla EVs has saved at least US$80,000 (about RM374,000) in fuel costs annually.
“The UP.FIT Cybertruck Next-Gen Patrol vehicle represents a significant engineering leap into the future, and we’re excited to offer law enforcement agencies the future of policing,” said Ben Schaffer, CEO of Unplugged Performance. “We’ve been thrilled with the direct feedback from police departments that have participated in our Cybertruck development, and we look forward to deploying these complete UP.FIT vehicles to law enforcement agencies across the nation this year.”
