Ahead of its official launch in Malaysia on July 20, Tesla has announced that its all-electric SUV, the Model Y, is now available to order in Malaysia with prices starting from RM199,000. The estimated date for first deliveries will be in early 2024.
Similar to its practice elsewhere, customers order their car through Tesla’s website. There is a ‘Design Studio’ where they can configure their model with options. Once they have made their booking – a non-refundable fee of RM1,000 is required – then they will have a sales representative whom they can interact with. Test drives will be available soon, says the company.
With the official presence of the carmaker, owners will now be assured of aftersales support and a full warranty. The early adopters who bought Teslas through private importers had to get aftersales support from Singapore or even Hongkong.
