Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) is offering an upgraded variant of the Triton AT Premium for those who would like an extra touch of sportiness to the popular pick-up truck. Available only in limited numbers, this new variant of the Triton is available only in a White Diamond exterior finish.
The special features
It is differentiated by a stylish front bumper garnish, an exclusive sticker design, 18-inch Yokohama Geolander AT G015 tyres, wheelarches, and a dynamic sportsbar and visor. Inside, the upgrades include illuminated scuff plates and a new headrest design.
Depending on the region, this special version of the Triton is priced from RM135,900 to RM137,900 (excluding insurance premium). In the duty-free zones of Langkawi and Labuan, the prices are RM128,103 and RM130,554, respectively.
Manufactured and imported from Thailand
Manufactured and imported from the Mitsubishi Motors factory in Thailand, the Triton AT Premium is powered by a 2.4-litre MIVEC 4-cylinder diesel engine. With Variable Valve Timing technology and turbocharging, it produces 181 ps/430 Nm which goes to the wheels through the Easy Select 4WD drivetrain.
The system has an off-road mode for optimum handling characteristics over rough or slippery terrain. There is also Hill Descent Control where the vehicle speed is electronically-controlled at a safe speed, allowing the driver to concentrate on steering the vehicle to avoid obstructions. With a turning radius of 5.9 metres, the Triton is also very manoeuvrable.
Other active safety systems include ABS, Electronic Brake-Force Distribution, Brake Assist, Active Stability Control, Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, and Trailer Stability Assist. There is also a Rest Reminder which can remind the driver to rest during long journeys and arrive at the destination safely.
Customers also get a Driving Video Recorder (DVR) from authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealers as a standard accessory. Apart from the recordings being useful in the event of a dispute after an accident, the DVR can also be used to record memories of drives along nice roads.
Other variants to choose from
Besides the Triton AT Premium, MMM also offers five other variants of the model, with prices ranging from RM110,000 to RM155,900 (excluding insurance). Some variants have manual transmission for those who prefer changing gears themselves.
