Sime Darby Motors sets up pop-up store at 1Utama

Since Sime Darby Motors (which can trace its roots back to PERNAS Sime Darby in the early 1980s) began its association with Ford, its portfolio of brands has grown considerably. Excluding Toyota, Lexus and Perodua which it will soon be associated with as well, Sime Darby Motors (SDM) represents 43 automotive and automotive-related brands.

The automotive brands represented in Malaysia (SDM also operates in other countries as well) are BMW, MINI, Hyundai, Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover, Porsche, BYD and Volvo. Besides having flagship showrooms at Sime Darby Motors City in Selangor and individual showrooms elsewhere, SDM has now opened its first-ever pop-up store at the 1Ùtama Shopping Centre in Petaling Jaya.

More than one brand
While other companies also set up pop-up stores from time to time SDM’s is unique in that it has more than just one brand. Its pop-up store displays models from BMW, MINI, BMW Motorrad (motorcycles), BYD, Hyundai and Ford, with a special focus on EV models.

3-month presence
The pop-up store will be present at the shopping centre from January till the end of March 2024. With a wide range of models in different segments and price ranges, there should be something for everyone to check out. Information on the technologies and innovations of the models will be available from representatives of each brand.

During the 3-month period, there will also be exclusive promotions and offers which will save money for those who are shopping for a new vehicle this year.

If you can’t make it to 1Utama or are in another state, you can also visit the showrooms of the respective brands to find out more about their latest models and experience them through test-drives.
