Shell Malaysia’s latest R/C car collection is Star Wars-themed

Malaysia may not be Shell’s largest market but with the petroleum company’s presence going back 132 years, the country must have become a bright spot on its radar. Perhaps that’s why many firsts have been given to Malaysia, where new Shell products or service concepts have been introduced.

Now comes another first: an exclusive line of remote-control (R/C) cars in a team-up with The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia. According to Seow Lee Ming, General Manager of Shell Mobility Malaysia, Shell Malaysia is the first in the world to incorporate Star Wars-inspired racing car designs on not only toy cars, but also digital versions that players can explore in their Shell Racing mobile app.

“Just like Shell V-Power fuels the inner racing passion in our customers, this exciting collection reflects our understanding of local fans, a passion for innovation and pushing boundaries to deliver unbeatable experiences for our customers of all ages, our testament to continuing to be better by far,” Ms Seow said.

“The response to our annual limited-edition collection has been nothing short of extraordinary. Shell V-Power enthusiasts are some of the most passionate people, and we know timeless stories like Star Wars continue to resonate among fans of all ages in Malaysia. We knew we had to celebrate these passionate communities and we hope fans will have tons of fun collecting and racing with this new collection,” she added.

The world’s first Star Wars Racers Collection is a limited-edition collection with 6 R/C car designs. These are: Darth Vader Racer; Stormtrooper Racer; Darth Maul Racer; The Mandalorian Racer; Boba Fett Racer; and BB-8 Racer.

Shell’s Star Wars Racers Collection retains all the special features, including the Bluetooth control and proprietary smart battery from the Shell Motorsports Collection last year. With the Shell Racing App on the App Store and Google Play, racers will have an exhilarating racing experience, now themed after galactic adventures.

Beginning from October 6 until November 19, 2023, the limited-edition Bluetooth R/C cars will be released one model per week exclusively at Shell Stations nationwide. Individual car models except the Darth Vader Racer are available for purchase at RM49.90, but you must also make a minimum RM50 fuel purchase in a single receipt of Shell FuelSave 95, V-Power 97 or V-Power Racing. The smart Bluetooth battery is available at RM30 with the same minimum fuel purchase condition as the car models.

If you buy a 4-litre pack of Shell Helix Ultra/Power engine oil at a Shell station, you can get the Darth Vader Racer for free. To complete their collection, customers can also purchase the Collector Casing at RM89.90 when they pump RM80 Shell V-Power Racing in a single receipt.
