smart Malaysia has started its introduction of the brand’s second model in the new EV generation that began with the #1 – the #3 (hashtag 3, as they refer to it). The first activity is a 3-day event to preview the model to various groups – fans of the brand, EV enthusiasts and potential customers. The preview is taking place at the Proton Test Track where test-drives are also possible with camouflaged units.
The #3 was added to the range in 2023. Larger than the #1, it has rear-wheel drive and a 66 kWh lithium-nickel battery providing power to the 272 ps/343 Nm motor. The cruising range is said to be up to 455 kms with a fully charged battery. Like the #1, there is also a powerful BRABUS version with dual motors giving all-wheel drive.
It will make its first public appearance at Malaysia Auto Show 2024 (May 22 – 26) at MAEPS in Serdang but the official launch date and price have not been announced yet. The #1 is priced from RM189,000 to RM249,000.
