The Ford Ranger had a big impact on the pick-up truck segment in Malaysia when it arrived in the late 1990s. It changed the image of the business workhorse to a lifestyle machine and continued on to influence trucks in design and safety.
First-of-its-kind podcast
Sime Darby ConneXion (SDAC) which has been associated with the Ranger and with Ford from the start has also been innovative in the ways it has introduced new generations of the truck. Now it is again scoring a first-of-its-kind in the automotive industry with the ‘Ford Malaysia: Built for Life’ series.
To be available on Spotify from January 28, the podcast transcends conventional narratives surrounding automobiles. Rather than primarily focusing on technical specifications and industry-related information, the ‘Ford Malaysia: Built for Life‘ podcast taps into the human aspect.
Engaging storytelling format
Those who already own a Ranger as well as those who are interested in trucks and autos will discover unique insights into the Ranger lifestyle. Hosted by JJ Fernandez and presented in an engaging storytelling format through heartfelt anecdotes, interviews and shared experiences, ’Ford Malaysia: Built for Life’ delves into the stories and experiences of Ford Ranger owners and the vibrant Ranger community.
The podcast also brings in subject matter experts who will share opinions, useful tips and other chronicles that audiences will never read or hear about on any other platform or social channel. It will showcase how this iconic vehicle has become an integral companion for work, family and play.

“The title of our new podcast – ‘Ford Malaysia: Built for Life’ – is not just a catchy phrase. It is a profound expression that encapsulates the enduring bond between the Ranger and its community. It symbolises more than a vehicle; it embodies the Ranger way of life – one that embraces adventure, resilience, the spirit of exploration and an innate sense of community,” said Turse Zuhair, Managing Director, Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford.
“It aims to foster a sense of belonging and comradeship among Ranger enthusiasts and other individuals on the same wavelength, offering a captivating journey into the heart of the Ranger experience – one that is built not just for the road but for life itself,” he added.
