Reverse camera standard for all Isuzu D-MAX double cab models

Pick-up trucks are long and parking them, especially in reverse, can be challenging for some. For owners of the latest Isuzu D-MAX, there should no longer be any challenge as Isuzu Malaysia is providing a reverse camera as standard for its entire D-MAX double cab range. This makes Isuzu the first vehicle manufacturer in Malaysia to provide reverse cameras as standard across its entire double cab truck range.

While the flagship X-Terrain and high-specification Premium variants have had this feature since their introduction, the base Standard 1.9-litre versions now also get it as standard. This is in response to requests from traders who want the assistance of this parking aid for their trucks.

“With the immense capability of our pick-up trucks, the Isuzu D-MAX continues to appeal to those who depend on them heavily on a daily basis. By providing these users with a factory-fitted solution for their parking needs, not only do we help protect their investments, it also ensures that their vehicles continue to remain mobile reliably and safely,” said Isuzu Malaysia’s Chief Operating Officer, Kenkichi Sogo.

The reverse camera sits neatly in a receptacle next to the tailgate handle and sends crystal-clear images to a new 7-inch touchscreen which is part of the infotainment head unit fitted in the 1.9-litre Standard model. The unit also has Bluetooth connectivity, allowing music playback when paired with compatible smartphones.

Catering to the needs of personal communication devices, the 1.9-litre Standard models now come with two USB ports up front for recharging devices. One port is Type A and the other is Type C which uses the connector found in many newer smartphones.

Externally, the new 1.9-litre Standard D-MAX models will have body-coloured door and tailgate handles instead of the previous silver finish.

Slight change in price
The enhanced Isuzu D-Max 1.9-litre Standard model is available with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission and prices start from RM105,599.20 (on the road without insurance in Peninsular Malaysia). This is a marginal price increase of RM1,500 over the variant replaced.
