Motor vehicle owners in the certain areas of Sabah and Sarawak will soon be able to receive PUSPAKOM services without having to visit a vehicle inspection centre as mobile van services will be available.
From September 4, 2023, PUSPAKOM will offer the services in the Kota Kinabalu area of Sabah and from September 11, in the Kota Samarahan and Kuching areas of Sarawak. The coverage is within 50 km radius of the areas mentioned.
The mobile van service brings the inspection services to the home or office as designated by the vehicle owner. The services available include:
- Inspections for transfer of ownership or transfer registration number;
- Renewals of expired roadtax; and
- Registration of new or used vehicles.
There will be a charge of RM100 for requesting the mobile van service, and the fees for inspection will depend on the type of inspection carried out.
According to the CEO of PUSPAKOM, Mohammed Shukor Ismail, the introduction of the mobile van service is in line with the company’s objective of expanding PUSPAKOM services in Sabah and Sarawak.
“Our commitment to vehicle owners in Sabah and Sarawak can be seen in the opening of PUSPAKOM’s new branch in Kota Samarahan which started operations this month. This branch is capable of carrying out large-scale inspections of up to 500 vehicles a day. At our old branch in Kuching, only 400 vehicles could be accepted daily,” he said.
