The Proton Impian (UK name for the Waja) was entered in the British Touring Car Championship from 2002 to 2004 by Team Petronas Syntium Proton and scored 2 wins in 95 races.
After the BTCC campaign, the car was entered as the Waja in the Asian Touring Car Championship in 2005 and 2006 with opting to run Fariqe Hairuman, Mashlino Buang and Michael Briggs as drivers.
