Most people will kept their cars for some years, usually for as long as the loan period (which can be many years) and during that time, they will need to send the car for regular servicing to ensure it remains in proper running condition.
The costs for servicing may change over the years with various inflationary factors. In these times of financial challenges for many, rising costs are a fact of life but Proton offers a way to avoid such increases in servicing costs with its new ProCare Smart Plan (PSP).
PSP is a prepaid service package for owners to purchase for their new and existing Proton vehicles, currently applicable to the Saga, X90 and latest X70. Other models will be added at a later stage.
The packages can be for 3 years or 5 years, and with the costs capped for that period, the savings could be up to RM670 (depending on the model).
The PSP is only available for use at authorised Proton service centres where there are fully trained technicians and more importantly, only genuine Proton parts are used. As an additional benefit, maintenance costs can be reduced as owners will enjoy savings up to 15% compared to normal service packages.
If the vehicle is sold off and there is still a balance of the PSP remaining, the new owner can also make use of its benefits until it ends. This could help to increase the resale value as it is an added benefit for the buyer.
Current owners who purchased their vehicles without the PSP package will also be offered a similar prepaid service package, though these will be capped to 2-year intervals, with the savings of up to RM350 (depending on the model).
Additionally, Proton will also offer owners the options to finance the purchase of their PSP package should they wish to enrol for it after they have bought their cars.
“Proton remains focused on making improvements to the product and services offering to our customers and the ProCare Smart Plan is the latest example of these efforts, combining industry leading levels of aftersales service at Proton outlets with peace of mind for the customer, knowing that scheduled maintenance costs for their vehicles are capped for the next 3 or 5 years. This not only assists in better budget management but also helps to increase the retained value of the vehicle,” said Edmund Lim, Vice-President Sales and AfterSales, Proton Edar.
