Proton owners with the ATLAS operating system in their vehicle can now make payments at carparks with Pay & Go payment systems. The off-street parking payment system, developed in Sarawak, is currently available at 28 locations – primarily in Kuching – and will be expanded to more areas, especially in the Klang Valley.
Pay & Go uses Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology which scans and records a vehicle’s numberplate at the point of entry to the carpark. Besides other payment methods, owners of Proton models with the ATLAS system will have the convenience of making payment from inside their vehicle with just a tap on the display panel. Additionally, upcoming software updates (over the air) will enable users to pay directly from their ATLAS Pay e-wallet accounts.
The integration of Pay & Go’s payment system with the ATLAS operating system is the first-of-its-kind partnership in Malaysia which was formalised via a Product Integration Agreement with ACO Tech, a company jointly owned by Proton, Altel, and ECARX.
“Central to ACO Tech solutions is our innovation to provide convenience and enhance the overall driving experience for customers. By collaborating with like-minded partners such as Pay & Go who have similar value propositions, we now offer a customer-centric solution for parking via our Infotainment Head Unit. The integration of Pay & Go into ATLAS underscores our commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions to our valued customers. We aim to make the driving experience more convenient and enjoyable for motorists and will continue innovating to shape the future of automotive technology,” said Li Pu, CEO of ACO Tech.
Payment for parking is not all the Pay & Go will offer in the longer term. Eddie Wee, Pay & Go’s CEO, said that there are plans to add more features in the ATLAS system such as eReservation for F&B and Parking Space Reservation, among other things, in the near future.
