No closures or diversions at Loke Yew Roundabout area in KL – for now

Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur has made a sudden decision to postpone the plan to carry out renovation works and the construction of a bridge in the area. This would have meant closure of some roads in the area and diversions which would certainly create headaches for motorists.
There is no indication from DBKL when the project will start although it is likely to proceed at some time in the future.
Perhaps some parties have realised that the congestion in the city is already bad enough and if they are going to close off roads, they need to plan carefully to minimise inconvenience to motorists.
Road closures in one area can also impact other roads as traffic flow and volume is changed, possibly causing congestion where it never existed before.
