Mitsubishi XPANDER stays on top of MPV segment (non-Malaysian brands)

The Mitsubishi XPANDER arrived in the Malaysian market during the difficult pandemic period and had a quiet entry. But since the first units rolled out from the assembly plant in Pekan, Pahang, the MPV has gained a strong following and sales have steadily grown.

For Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia’s last financial year (which ran from April 2023 to March 2024), sales of the XPANDER totalled 11,384 units, the highest among MPVs from non-Malaysian brands. Factors which have kept it popular are its good looks (which seem to be even better now) and good driveability. Being a product that was developed for the ASEAN region, it obviously meets local conditions well.
