Most car companies usually deliver new cars to their customers individually, with some making it a special event for the new owner to remember. The new Chinese brands, however, seem to do it differently and have been organising mass deliveries for their customers, at least for the first batch.
Perhaps it’s the way they do it in China or that they have large numbers to be delivered … or it’s a way to get some extra free publicity in the media.
SAIC Motor Malaysia recently held one such Delivery Event for its new MG5 at its dealership in Glenmarie, Selangor, for more than 20 new owners who were among the first to get the new model. At 17 other MG Motor dealerships around the country, there are also ongoing deliveries taking place.
“Through events like these, we’re able to engage directly with our customers, listen to their feedback, and gather meaningful insights into their satisfaction levels. This ongoing connection with our customers not only helps us improve our service but also strengthens the community united by the spirit of MG,” said Lee Wen Hsiang, Chief Operating Officer of SAIC Motor Malaysia.
RM7.800 rebate still available
The MG5 was launched with a price of RM93,900 (excluding insurance) but there Is still the RM7,000 introductory rebate which drops it to less than RM90,000.
The Civic-sized MG5 has a 114 ps/150 Nm 1.5-litre engine and 8-speed iCVT. It comes with a 5-year vehicle warranty with the powertrain having an additional 2 years coverage. There is no mileage limit on both warranties so owners get to enjoy the full number of years.
