Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Training Academy invites applications

For the past 39 years, Mercedes-Benz has had an academy in Malaysia for apprentices to develop skills and various specialisations to serve in various positions with authorised dealers. Over the years, the academy has trained over 900 apprentices, with an average of 500 applicants annually since 2017.

The Advanced Modern Apprenticeship Program at the Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Training Academy is once again open for applications from Malaysians who want to take the opportunity to transform a passion into a rewarding career as Passenger Car Technicians. Employment opportunities are guaranteed upon completion.

The 3-year course is fully funded through a scholarship. Apprentices will be given training to develop a diverse range of skills such as presentation, critical analysis, decision-making, and systematic thinking as an automotive mechatronic technician in systems and high-voltage technology,

As part of the Mercedes-Benz global strategy and focus on electric vehicles, the brand has introduced a new profile for the Electric Vehicle Specialists, known as Qualified High-Voltage Technician as an additional module to train and prepare talents for the future demands of tomorrow’s mobility landscape.

After completing their course, the apprentices from the academy are assured of employment at authorised dealerships.

The comprehensive curriculum is aligned with globally approved syllabuses and training guidelines established by Mercedes-Benz Global Training, incorporating Mercedes-Benz Competence elements to ensure continuous development of trainees with the brand. The program includes International Qualifications up to Level 3, acknowledged by the Department of Skills Development under the Ministry of Human Resources.

“In light of the ever-evolving technology within our Mercedes-Benz vehicles, the preparation for Battery Electric Vehicle transformation and integration into our Dealer Network, further encourages us to develop and nurture our skilled workforce to meet the increasing demand,” he added.

As more EV models are introduced in the Malaysian market, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia wants to ensure that it has sufficient aftersales personnel equipped with the skills to maintain them.

Interested individuals with a minimum of 3 credits in SPM or equivalent qualifications, including a pass in English, can apply for the program. Applications will be accepted until July 31, 2023.
