Lotus Cars Malaysia has announced updated pricing for its Eletre e-SUV and Emira sportscar. The new prices are said to be due to developments of the ringgit against all major foreign currencies in recent months.
Increase of RM40,000 – RM50,000
Following the initial price indication announced during its Malaysian launch in April, the suggested retail price for the mid-range Eletre S was from RM648,000 and this is now revised to RM698,000. At the top end, the Eletre R now costs RM838,000 (up from RM798,000).
Normally, the prices for the duty-free zones of Langkawi and Labuan are considerably lower but in the case of the Eletre, which is a battery-electric vehicle (BEVs), it is the same in those zones as it is for Peninsular Malaysia. This is because the government has exempted BEVs from import duties for a few years as an incentive to encourage adoption of electric vehicles.
Revised pricing for the entry-level Eletre is not available at this time and in any case, this variant will not be available until at least 2025.
Emira price i4 First Edition
As for the Emira range, the actual retail price starting from RM1,095,000 (Peninsular Malaysia) and RM509,000 (Langkawi) for the recently introduced Emira i4 First Edition is effective as of September 1. 2023 for new factory orders. Limited units are still available at the introductory price of RM998,800 on a first-come, first-served basis.
Meanwhile, the Emira V6 First Edition will now have a starting price of RM1,289,000 (excluding insurance) in Peninsular Malaysia (up from RM1,205,800) and RM529,000 in Langkawi (up from RM478,800). The Emira V6 First Edition with automatic transmission now retails at RM1,309,000 in Peninsular Malaysia (up from RM1,225,800) andRM539,000 in Langkawi (up from RM493,800).
