If you are a collector of fine writing instruments, the latest very exclusive limited-edition pen from Onoto, a British luxury fountain pen brand, will be of great interest to you. It’s a pen which pays homage to the 75-year heritage of Lotus.
More than just a handcrafted pen, the Lotus 75th Anniversary Pen is also unique in that each pen is crafted using premium quality recycled aluminium sourced from historic Lotus Formula 1 cars. Aluminium has been the principal material of choice for Lotus Cars, from the very first Lotus MK1 in 1948 as its lightness was what Colin Chapman needed for his cars.
The aluminium has been sourced from significant car designs throughout the 75 years of Lotus, in particular the Type 72 which was one of Lotus’ most successful and iconic Formula 1 cars, adding a touch of British heritage to its design.
The cap is made from solid sterling silver featuring chevrons and chequered patterns. The delicate engraving is complemented by vitreous enamelling, which gives the pen vibrant colours and exquisite feel.
The renowned ‘ACBC’ personal monogram – the initials of Anthony Colin Bruce Chapman – known to all as Colin Chapman, is showcased on the finial of the pen. It honours the company’s extensive history and enhances the pen’s elegance as a writing tool.
This iconic pen will be very exclusive as only 75 will be available, each priced at €3,734.09 (about RM18,610), excluding delivery charges. As standard, the 155 mm long pen comes with an Onoto size 7 nib (complimentary upgrade to 18ct Gold for direct orders) and at extra cost, the nib can be modified or a rollerball kit provided.
“We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Onoto, a brand that shares our commitment to exceptional quality and innovative design.
