Bermaz Auto Alliance Sdn Bhd (BAASB) is offering a longer warranty for new Peugeot models – specifically the 2008, 3008 and 5008 – booked during the months of September and October 2023. Additionally, during the promotion period, customers will also be entitled to 7 years of free scheduled maintenance and subsidised insurance premium.
2 years longer
The longer warranty is 2 years more than the usual factory warranty provided but BAASB does not mention in its press release if there is a mileage limit. For the normal 5-year warranty, the maximum mileage is 100,000 kms which will become applicable if it occurs in less than 5 years after first registration.
The same applies for the free scheduled maintenance which is also 5 years or 100,000 kms at other times.
Anyway, a longer warranty period at no extra charge should give added peace of mind to owners, while the free service will save on running costs in the first few years of ownership.
Warranty conditions
However, it should be noted that car companies require owners to strictly follow service schedules and have their vehicles serviced only at authorised service centres. This is what we would recommend anyway, but there are some motorists who may prefer to use other independent service centres when the warranty has expired. In this case, you will have to wait a bit longer before doing so in order not to void the warranty.
While there is the perception that authorised service centres of franchise holders charge more, the point is that they provide professional and competent services with personnel specifically trained on the brand’s vehicles. Furthermore, authorised service centres have support from the carmaker’s technical department which can be useful in solving difficult issues.
