First time Q7 assembled in Malaysia/ASEAN
This is the first time the Q7 is being assembled in Malaysia – or even in the region – though it is not the first time Audi has done local assembly. During the 1990s, the 100 and A4 models were assembled locally as well and earlier models were assembled at the AMI plant during the 1970s.
This time, assembly is done at the HICOM Automotive Manufacturers complex in Pekan, Pahang where there is also a facility assembling Volkswagen models (currently the Golf GTI/Golf R, Tiguan and Touareg).
S line styling
The flagship SUV, which was the first Audi SUV model when it was launched in 2006, comes with a Black Styling Package Plus, which adds to the striking accents to the exterior appearance which adopts S line styling.
With the Black Styling Package Plus, the Q7’s athletic aesthetic is enhanced through the black Audi Singleframe mask and Q7 model badge, while the front and rear Audi rings are in anthracite grey. A roof edge spoiler and 22-inch Audi Sports 5-V-spoke star wheels further accentuate its imposing stature.
Technologically advanced, the Q7 is equipped with new HD Matrix LED headlights featuring Audi Laser Light and Digital OLED rear lamps, elevating both visibility and style.
3-litre V6 with MHEV system
Under the bonnet, a 3.0-litre TFSI V6 petrol engine produces 340 ps/500 Nm and operating efficiency is enhanced with the integrated MHEV (Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle) system which utilizes 48V technology.
Power delivery goes to all 4 wheels via 8-speed Tiptronic transmission with intelligent distribution by the quattro permanent all-wheel drive system. Audi Drive Select offers the driver a choice of up to 7 different modes to optimise performance over various surface conditions.
First class comfort and safety
Superlative comfort levels are provided with the Adaptive Air Suspension Sport which adjusts ride height and comfort levels based on the selected mode. Additionally, All-Wheel Steering makes it easier to park the vehicle which measures just over 5 metres in overall length.
As with all Audi vehicles, the Q7 is equipped with advanced safety technologies designed to keep drivers aware of traffic around them and assist in avoiding accidents (or minimising the effects of a collision).
Features include a Head-Up Display and a variety of active systems such as Audi Pre-sense (front and rear), Side Assist with Exit Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Assist and Lane Departure Warning.
Luxury and practicality
S line touches in the interior of the Q7 include Valcona leather Sports Seat Plus with embossed S badges on the front seats, and a flat-bottomed leather steering wheel with paddle shifters. An Ambient Lighting Package Plus offers 30 colour choices, allowing for a personalised experience on every journey.
The 7-seater Q7 cabin offers a balance luxury with practicality, with generous legroom across all 3 rows. The versatile easily adjusted seating configuration can be arranged for maximum cargo space when needed. The second-row seats can adjust for backrest angle and position, while the third row is easily accessible by moving the second row forward.
The Q7 comes with Power Latching Doors, a premium feature that pulls the doors to dully closed position automatically. There’s also a massage function for the front seats, 4-zone deluxe air conditioning, wireless charging pad, kick sensor-powered boot opening, and a 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium Sound System.
