If you own a Ford Ranger or the powerful Ranger Raptor, you may not be using its capabilities to the fullest. The ‘Built Ford Tough’ trucks are actually very capable over off-road terrain but most owners may use only 50% of that capability.
Since you have such a capable vehicle, why not put it to the test? However, you first need to have some 4×4 driving skills to ensure that you can explore the limits safely. This is where the Ford Ranger Getaways training experiences come in.
Sessions in Selangor and Sarawak
Organised by Sime Darby Auto ConneXion, there are two training sessions available – one in Selangor and the other in Sarawak. Both sessions are ideal for Ranger owners new to 4×4 driving who are want to extend their off-roading adventures to more than just driving to a durian estate or to the beach.
The beginner-level 4×4 courses aim to provide participants with the necessary knowledge and basic techniques of safe off-roading. They will be conducted by the HRDF-certified professional instructors who are also expert off-roaders.
The participants will also gain more in-depth knowledge of their vehicle and maybe even learn of a feature they never realised their Ranger has. They are also welcome to bring along a companion. And being with other Ranger owners also means making new friends – who will most likely have like-minded interests.
Sessions in August and September
The first session will be held at the M4TREC Beginner 4WD Course in Semenyih, Selangor on August 26. 2023. The second one will be at the Sar4Trac Beginner 4WD Course in Kampung Barieng, Bau, Sarawak on September 16, 2023.
Both the M4TREC and Sar4Trac centres are purpose-built facilities designed to offer a safe and controlled environment for learning and experiencing the basic techniques of off-road driving. All participants will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the training session.

The courses are priced at RM498 per person, with a maximum of two participants per vehicle. Owners of the latest Ranger and Ranger Raptor who have not utilised their Inner Circle privilege card code can redeem their 30% discount for this training experience. Early bird owners of the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel are encouraged to redeem their Getaways discount before it expires in June 2024.
