GWM Malaysia (Great Wall Motor Malaysia) today launched the HAVAL H6 HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle), its first locally assembled model. The new SUV is assembled at PEPS-JV (Melaka) Sdn Bhd in the HICOM Pegoh Industrial Park in Melaka.
Although HAVAL models were assembled locally some 10 years ago, GWM was not involved then. This time, it is directly involved and has even signed an assembly contract for a duration of 8 years.
The H6 HEV, a C-segment SUV, is offered in the premium Ultra version with a price RM139,800 (excluding insurance).
The hybrid electric powertrain has a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with 243 ps/530 Nm and a claimed range of 1,000 kms on a full tank of fuel. This is not a PHEV so there’s no need to look for a charging station at any time.
Customers who make their RM1,000 booking before October 20, 2024 enjoy a RM3,000 rebate. Those who register a new H6 before the end of 2024 will get 5 years of free maintenance. There is a 10-year/1,000,000-km engine warranty, and 8 years or 1,000,000 kms HEV system warranty. Vehicle warranty is 7 years/200,000 kms.
