Motorists travelling along the Federal Highway should be cautious near UiTM as there will be lane closures between July 5 and 20, 2024. The closures are to enable work related on the Light Rail Transit 3 (LRT3) project to be carried out safely.
The area where lane closures will take place is between the Petronas and Shell stations and near the BHPetrol station on the other side. Closures will start at 11 pm each night and end at 5 am the next day, so most highway users won’t be affected.
The closures will be done in 3 stages as explained below:
The LRT3 line provides a connection for 2 million people between Bandar Utama and Klang by March 2025. Part of the Greater Kuala Lumpur/Klang Valley (GKL/KV) Land Public Transport Masterplan, LRT3 will extend rail connectivity to the Western Corridor of the GKL/KV when it is operational in 2025.
