Dinamikjaya Motors, the Bermaz Auto unit handling the Kia brand, this evening launched the Kia EV9 in Malaysia. The fully electric SUV, which is the flagship of Kia EV SUV range, has won top global awards such as the 2024 World Car of the Year and Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year, besides major awards in various countries.
For the Malaysian market, it is imported only in the GT-line spec with 6 seats or 7 seats and priced (without insurance) at RM374,668 and RM369,668, respectively. Being fully electric qualifies the model to be imported and sold duty-free.
The drivetrain is all-wheel drive with electric motors front and rear generating a total of 380 ps/700 Nm. With the 99.8 kWh battery, the range is said to be up to 505 kms, and recharging from 10% – 80% should be possible within 24 minutes.
Kia’s V2L (Vehicle to Load) capability is also available to share some of the electricity with other external devices or equipment.
The SUV comes with a 5-year/150,000-km warranty covering the vehicle, and a separate warranty for the lithium-ion battery pack which is 8 years/160,000 kms.
