JAECOO is a very young brand and didn’t even exist before April 2023. Over the past 12 months, the premium SUV brand of the Chery Group has been growing its presence in selected markets including Southeast Asia, with Malaysia being the first country to launch the brand.
Since April this year, JAECOO Malaysia has been preparing for the official sales launch in July, providing public previews and also beginning assembly of the J7 at the Chery Malaysia plant in Shah Alam, Selangor.
Network of 35 outlets
Having a retail network in place is also a vital step in establishing the brand and JAECOO Malaysia Malaysia plans to have 35 outlets around Malaysia (including East Malaysia), which will be operated by 30 dealers.
Full range of services
The first of these outlets in the Klang Valley is a dealership operated by ES Premium Holdings Sdn Bhd in Glenmarie, Shah Alam, Selangor. The dealership is a 3S outlet, meaning it offers the full range of services – sales, service and spare parts – at one location for the convenience of customers and owners.
With a built-up area of 23,000 sq ft on a 40,000 sq ft site, the dealership has been designed with a premium ambience commensurate with the brand image. It features a spacious ‘Super Walkway’ models extending from the ground floor to the first floor with a showroom for up to 7 models.
Interactive LED displays provide customers with information on the products and professionally trained sales advisors are also on hand to answer questions and explain the various features in more detail. Test-drives are also available on request, presently for the J7 which is available in all-wheel drive and 2WD variants priced from RM150,000.
Envisioning an average of 300 visitors a month, the new dealership provides a customer lounge with a dedicated coffee and tea bar as well as high-speed internet connectivity, besides prayer rooms. There is also a dedicated lounge for vehicle deliveries to make it a special occasion for the new owners.
The service centre can handle over 500 vehicles a month and has all the special tools and diagnostic equipment to ensure proper vehicle maintenance. There is also an Electric Vehicle bay, in anticipation of electrified models which will be offered in the near future.
Owners are assured of spare parts when needed as JAECOO Malaysia has set up a dedicated parts warehouse which will be optimally stocked to supply parts to dealerships.
“We are thrilled to launch our flagship 3S dealership in the heart of Glenmarie Autocity, a testament to JAECOO’s readiness to cater to customers in Malaysia. We have invested in a strong network across the country to bring a premium ownership experience both today, and for the future. Our investment in the Glenmarie flagship dealership, which is valued at RM5.5 million, is a clear indication of our commitment to grow the premium off-road SUV market for the long term,” said JAECOO Malaysia Vice-President, Emily Lek.
