GWM Malaysia, a subsidiary of China’s Great Wall Motor which markets ORA electric vehicles and HAVAL vehicles, recently opened its first 4S centre in East Malaysia. The new facility is located in Kuching, Sarawak, and joins the growing number of outlets in the country to support new and future owners.
“Our channel network is steadily expanding from West Malaysia to East Malaysia, with each product launch carefully considered in response to market demand. The Kuching showroom will serve as a crucial link between Great Wall Motor and Kuching, Sarawak, extending our reach to more consumers in East Malaysia, providing a wider range of product choices, and ensuring superior service,” said Cui Anqi, MD of GWM Malaysia.
Operated by YLH Autoworld
The Kuching 4S centre is operated by YLH Autoworld and offers the full range of services from sales to aftersales. It has a showroom of 550 sq. metres and an integrated service centre with 10 bays to ensure efficient management of vehicles daily. As a 4S outlet, it also offers services to repair and restore vehicles.
GWM Malaysia will broaden its range of products in coming years, especially when the brand’s first assembly plant in ASEAN is operational. The move to assemble its vehicles in Malaysia is part of GWM’s global expansion strategy in the region, with a focus on implementing its ASEAN new energy strategy. Production at the new plant, located in Pegoh, is expected to reach 20,000 units a year by 2028.
