Fourth generation of Bentley Continental GT to debut next month

Originally unveiled in 2002, the Continental GT started the rebirth of Bentley. It not only transformed the business but also catalysed a 10-fold increase in sales, from around 1,000 cars to 10,000 cars. Each generation defined a new benchmark for the now highly competitive luxury GT sector. Early next year, the 100,000th example of this now iconic Grand Tourer will be completed at Bentley’s Dream Factory in England.

Before then, in June this year, the fourth generation will make its debut and it will be the first car built around Bentley’s new Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain. The latest generation of chassis technology will include active all-wheel drive with torque vectoring, 4-wheel steering, an electronic Limited Slip Differential, 48V electric active anti-roll control and new, advanced dual-valve dampers.

Delivering 782 ps/1,000 Nm, the new Continental GT will have a claimed range of 80 kms running on just electricity. Not only will it be the most powerful and most dynamically capable Bentley road car in the company’s 105-year history, it will also be the most sustainable – whilst retaining the handcrafted luxury and exceptional materials that are synonymous with all Bentleys.
