First shipment of JETOUR Dashing has arrived; launch next month

JETOUR will soon join the lengthening list of brands from China (almost all newcomers to the market) with the launch of its first model in early April. The model will be the Dashing SUV and the first shipment arrived in Port Klang recently.

This first shipment will go to those customers who began placing bookings since May 2024 when the model was previewed at the Malaysia Auto Show.

Though it may seem to be associated with the French language, the 7-year old brand name is actually derived from a combination of ‘jet’ and ‘tour’ which signifies a ‘convenient journey”.

“This is a significant moment for JETOUR and for Malaysian drivers,” said Fu Yong, CEO of JETOUR Auto Malaysia, the marketing subsidiary of JETOUR which is part of the Chery Holding Group. “The arrival of these JETOUR Dashing vehicles demonstrates our commitment to the Malaysian market and our response to the incredible enthusiasm we’ve seen from customers.”

Local assembly from May
Aiming to build its presence in the Malaysian market, JETOUR plans to assemble the Dashing locally and production is scheduled to begin towards the end of May 2025 at a plant believed to be located in Johor. This strategic move underscores the company’s long-term commitment to the Malaysian market and will enhance its ability to meet consumer demand.

The Dashing is a premium 5-seater model with the typical SUV form. While it uses a Chery Group engine, the platform was developed by JETOUR for its own models. It is known that there will be two versions of the Dashing, both with 1.5-litre turbocharged engines with 156 ps/230 Nm output and a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission.
