First 200 DENZA D9 customers get their fully electric MPV

It used to be that when your new car was registered and ready for collection, you would have to go to the showroom where the salesman would have some documents for your to sign, tell you a bit about your new car and then send you off with a wave.

Today, car companies do it differently and understanding that a car is perhaps the second most expensive purchase for most people, the delivery is more elaborate. Many companies have special delivery bays where the new owner is presented their car and even given tokens of appreciation.

DENZA Malaysia went one step further and made the handover of its new D9 fully electric MPV a special event for the first 200 owners in Malaysia. At the ‘DENZA and BYD Electrifying Experience’ event being held this weekend at Plaza Arkadia, Desa ParkCity (just outside Kuala Lumpur), the company had a special handover ceremony today to the first batch of customers.

Each customer received personalised attention for the sales representative who sold them the MPV, and they were also given exclusive gifts as a token of appreciation for being pioneer purchasers of the fully electric 7-seater model. They each also get a complimentary wallbox for home charging and a 6-years of  free scheduled service.

Welcoming the new owners to the DENZA family, Eagle Zhao, Managing Director of BYD Malaysia Sdn Bhd, said: “The delivery of our first 200 units of the DENZA D9 marks an exciting milestone for DENZA in Malaysia. This overwhelming response reflects the growing demand for premium electric mobility and reaffirms our dedication to innovation, craftsmanship, and customer experience. We are committed to shaping the future of high-end EVs and look forward to delivering even more exceptional vehicles to our customers in Malaysia.”

The event, at the carpark next to Plaza Arkadia, is on from 10 am to 10 pm this weekend and open to the public. Test drives will, of course, be for those who want to experience the D9 first-hand. There will also be a lounge where DENZA technology will be showcased and children will also be kept entertained.

Besides the D9, the brand’s sporty Z9GT (above) will also be in display, with a presentation every 2 hours. This model was teased during the launch of the D9 and will eventually come to Malaysia. At this time, the righthand drive version is still under final development.
