The Aston Martin Valkyrie is a true F1 car designed and legal for road use. And one unit (from a production run of 150) was recently delivered to Aston Martin Aramco Formula 1 Team driver, Fernando Alonso in Monaco.
The hypercar, priced from £2.5 million (about RM14.3 million), has a bespoke specification designed by Alonso in partnership with Q by Aston Martin.
One detail which won’t be visible to most is a red anodised aluminium accelerator pedal etched with the number ‘14’. This pays homage to Alonso’s racing number, chosen at the age of 14 on July 14, 1996 when he became karting world champion with #14. The car also has a ‘014S’as its registration number.
Jointly developed with Red Bull Racing Technologies, the limited production hypercar has a 6.5-litre V12 hybrid electric powertrain which can develop up to 1,155 ps, with 0 to 96 km/h possible in less than 2.5 seconds. For someone like Alonso, a 2-time F1 champion, that level of performance is something he would be familiar with.
