EV-focussed Careplus Mall officially opened in Seremban

The Careplus Group which has partnered with the GoAuto Group to explore new opportunities in the growing electric vehicle industry have a collaboration to import and distribute the NETA EV. Future plans include assembly of the brand’s New Energy Vehicles (and EVs from other brands) at a new plant to be built in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan.

“Phase 1 of the project involves the development of an assembly plant, expected to begin in the first quarter of 2024. Phases 2 and 3 will begin in 2026 and 2028, respectively. The estimated total gross development value of the plant development is about RM600 million,” said Go Auto Group Chairman, Dato’ SM Azli SM Nasimuddin Kamal.

In connection with its entry into the green technologies industry, Careplus has set up Careplus Mall at Pusat Komersial Oakland, in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. This is a mall that focusses on electrification, with particular emphasis on EVs. Visitors to the mall can also shop for solar panel solutions for home and commercial use.

There will also be a TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) facility on-site to help develop a new generation of workers with knowledge and skills in EVs.

Besides EVs. Careplus Mall is also intended as a centre for entertainment and leisure, with a sports hub and food and beverage outlets.

Ambitious Academy

“Currently, Careplus Mall has a 4S outlet which offers sales, service, spare parts and body repairs for NETA EVs which were introduced in Malaysia this year,” said Careplus CEO, Lim Kwee Shyan (above). “We are now exploring potential business in green technology and renewable energy areas, including solar equipment and electric vehicles.”

He added that Gentari will install 6 fast-charging stations with capacities between 180 – 250kW by the second quarter of 2024.
