The Dubai Police Force, well known for their fleet of over 40 expensive and powerful cars from brands like Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Porsche, Bugatti, and Maserati (and there’s even a Rolls-Royce) has now added a Tesla Cybertruck.
The announcement, made earlier this week on the force’s X (formerly Twitter) page, got a response of ‘Cool’ from Tesla CEO Elon Musk via a tweet on the social media platform which he owns as well.
It’s not known when the police force placed their order as there were over a million customers said to have booked one (with a US$100 deposit) by the time the electric truck finally started deliveries in December last year.
According to investment banks Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and UBS, production in 2024 is likely to be 48,500 units from the Gigafactory in Texas. Musk has mentioned that an annual output of 250,000 trucks will be reached by 2025.
Earlier this year, the Dubai Police also began using a Lotus Eletre, a fully electric SUV. All its vehicles have a green and white colour scheme.
