Donkervoort, the small 46-year old Dutch company which makes exclusive tailored supercars with unique designs, has endorsed the first Donkervoort Art Car. Based on the limited edition F22 model launched in 2022, it has been created by an award-winning Dutch artist Anneke Wilbrink for a Donkervoort owner.
The F22 Art Edition came to life when Cees Lubbers, a long-standing member of Donkervoort’s informal Ambassador owners group, wanted an artwork for his gallery ‘to represent him and all that makes him happy’, and wanted it recreated on his F22.
The original painting, created by the award-winning artist features a Donkervoort logo to represent Lubbers’ long association with the brand, and it has been transferred onto this car to create the F22 Art Edition.
“The Netherlands is a country rich in artistic heritage, and Donkervoort is a company rich in engineering heritage, so it seems a perfect fit to us,” said Donkervoort Managing Director, Denis Donkervoort.
“Nothing makes us happier than seeing our customers love and engage with their cars as much as we loved creating them, and it’s hard to imagine anybody engaging with their car more than Cees has done,” he added.
Lubbers plans to display the F22 Art Edition in his own gallery, which is also filled with art, unique cars and motorbikes. Well known in the Donkervoort Ambassadors group as ‘Race Cees’, he also has a red D8 GTO JD70 R which he used as a regular track-day weapon of choice (and it was even the actual model for the official Donkervoort miniature model).
The F22 Art Edition retains all the technical properties of the standard sportscar, with the Audi-supplied EA855 5-cylinder engine that gives a 666 bhp/tonne power-to-weight ratio. The carbonfibre-bodied car weighs 750 kgs and has a capability of up to 2.3g of cornering force with a 0 – 200 km/h sprint time said to be 7.5 seconds.
Only 100 units are available and deliveries to customers have been ongoing since 2022, with the last unit expected to be finished in 2025. Each car has a base price of €245,000 (RM1.245 million @ 5.0823/euro), and all units have been taken.
