Chery’s latest model – the T9 – of its Fulwin (Fengyun) range has made its debut in China and is one of 11 models for the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) range that will be launched in the next 2 years.
The T9 is a midsized SUV riding on the brand’s Kunpeng Super C-DM platform which uses a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain with intelligent AWD.
The PHEV powertrain has a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine which is said to give the T9 a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 4.26 seconds.
With a fuel consumption claimed to be 23.8 kms/litre, the potential range is 1,400 kms with a up to 165 kms said to be possible on just electric power alone. With DC fast-charging, it should take 20 minutes to recharge the battery pack from 30% to 80%.
