CaDA Bricks, a brand of building bricks was created by the Double Eagle Group in China. Since 2016, the company has steadily built up its portfolio of models which now have a growing following of brick-building enthusiasts around the world. Like LEGO, CaDA Bricks has sets for age groups from young to adults, varying in the degree of capability needed to build the vehicles, buildings or other interesting subjects.

Made up of 3,295 blocks
The latest model from the company is the Mercedes-AMG ONE hypercar. Only 275 units of the actual car will be made and the first delivery began early this year. With the CaDA model, you too can be an owner of this very exclusive plug-in hybrid hypercar with F1-derived technology. In collaboration with Mercedes-AMG, CaDA has created a faithful replica on a scale of 1:8 which is  made up of 3,295 interlocking building blocks.

Precision and detail
Although it is assembled from building blocks, designer BrunoJJ1 (Bruno Jenson) has managed to perfectly recreate the distinctive lines and hallmarks of the super sportscar with precision and detail.

For BrunoJJ1, whose love of interlocking-building-block models began at the age of 10, working on the hypercar was both a challenge and an honour. For him, the design of a model begins in the interior, i.e. with the chassis, the engine and the wheel suspension. The second step is the exterior design of the vehicle.

The positioning of the headlamps is particularly important, as they form the face of the vehicle, so to speak. Thanks in part to the 3D printed prototypes of various special parts supplied in advance by CaDA, BrunoJJ1 has ensured that the model is as close as possible to the original.

It features the iconic longitudinal fin, the retractable rear wing and the 10-spoke wheels with tyres which even have the actual Michelin tread pattern on them.

Fully motorised with electric motors
The model, priced at US$275 (RM1,300) measures 57 cm in length, with a width of 24.5 cm and a height of 16 cm so it is possible to have the high level of detail. Like the real car, the CaDA model is also fully motorised with electric motors. The engine is modelled on the 6-cylinder AMG powerplant of the original, while the Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) is simulated with pullback motors.

Thanks to its two L-motors, each tuned to separate buttons on the remote control, the model comes very close to the innovative drivetrain of the real car. This is made possible by a 2-speed transmission, which only a few models made of interlocking building blocks have. The car can be moved forwards/backwards and to the right/left via the remote control supplied.

The two doors open at the touch of a button, and both the speed and the LED lighting are controllable. The chassis has independent front and rear suspension with shock absorbers.
