The National Stadium at Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur is where people go to watch football and concerts and now, added to the list of events held there, is a showcase of the latest motor vehicles. While there have been such events held in the stadium’s carparks, it is the first time that the event has been held inside the stadium.
Known as the AutoArena, it is a strategic partnership Sime Motors and Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia. While the primary aim of this event is to support the government’s move to encourage adoption of EVs in the transition towards more environmentally-conscious transportation, there are more than just EVs on display and for sale.
The 3-day event (9 am – 7 pm) which starts today showcases products from Sime Motors’ automotive brands – namely BMW, MINI, Motorrad, BYD, Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo. Additionally, for those who may be looking for lower-priced alternatives or a second car, there is also a selection of premium pre-owned vehicles from Auto Selection, also part of Sime Motors.

By collaborating with Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia, we are not only supporting their operational needs with sustainable vehicles but also providing accessibility to our broader community with EV charging infrastructure. This initiative aligns with the government’s aim of increasing EV adoption by 2030 and helps foster greater awareness and understanding of the benefits of EV ownership for Malaysians,” said Jeffrey Gan, Managing Director of Southeast Asia, Sime Motors.

This is just the first of many automotive events that will be held collaboratively by Sime Motors and Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia. Additionally, as part of their partnership, Sime Motors will provide Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia with two EVs for a period of 24 months to serve as official vehicles for stadium operations. In addition, an EV charging station will be installed at the stadium, offering convenient access to EV charging infrastructure for the surrounding community.
