Auto Bavaria Balakong brings Retail.Next concept to Klang Valley

Following the opening of the Millennium Welt Seremban 2 showroom in Negeri Sembilan as the first dealership in Malaysia with BMW Group’s Retail.Next concept, Auto Bavaria Balakong will be the first in the Klang Valley with the new concept created by the German carmaker.

Originally from Sg. Besi
The Auto Bavaria Balakong facility originally operated in Sg. Besi and has now moved to the growing Balakong township in southern Cheras. To incorporate the Retail.Next concept, the showroom (now under final stages of renovation) has undergone significant expansion, increasing built-up area by 6 times, from 39,180 sq ft to 240,057 sq ft.

The modern design language and lush façade with a courtyard garden and outdoor terrace exemplify the premium ownership experience that is promised to BMW and MINI owners. As in other BMW Group Malaysia dealerships, there is also a cafe and premium lounge with comfortable seating for visitors and customers.

Phygital (physical and digital) engagement
The foundation of the Retail.Next concept s based on a seamless phygital (physical and digital) engagement which puts customers and products at the centre stage. The showroom has Customer Consultation Stages, with digital sales tools strategically positioned to provide information to customers. For those who require more detailed information, BMW Geniuses are also present to assist them.

Needless to say, there is also a fully equipped service centre with trained technicians on the same site. Auto Bavaria Balakong has RATC (Reception at the Counter) bays for prompt and efficient response to customer needs and concerns. There are also hand-over bays to make delivery a special occasion for each new owner.

In keeping with BMW Group Malaysia’s involvement in developing the EV charging infrastructure in Malaysia, Auto Bavaria Balakong will have charging facilities (AC and DC supply) for use by customers and visitors. Other Auto Bavaria outlets around the country also offer similar facilities, allowing owners to travel outstation without range anxiety.

Representing BMW Group brands since 1988
Auto Bavaria, a unit of Sime Darby Motors, was among the early companies in Malaysia to have integrated 3S outlets which offer the full range of sales and aftersales services on one site. In the early 1990s, following its appointment as distributor (in 1988) for BMW and MINI vehicles, it established a purpose-built facility in Shah Alam, Selangor which would be its flagship outlet for some two decades.

In that time, Auto Bavaria grew to become the largest dealership group representing the BMW and MINI brands in Malaysia. The flagship branch for Auto Bavaria is today in Sime Darby Motors City, together with the showrooms of a number of other premium brands which Sime Darby Motors represents.

Its network has grown over the 36 years it has been associated with the brands of the BMW Group and there are now seven outlets from the north to the south of Peninsular Malaysia.
