Watches used to just tell the time and date but today, they do so much more, especially as smartwatches. And with Bluetooth connectivity, many can also connect to other devices to share apps or data.
Now Mercedes-Benz App features are available on the Apple Watch; according to the automaker, this is in response to requests from many customers. Owners can now interact with their vehicles without having to use their smartphone and they have many key functionalities.
These include the ability to check the vehicle range based on its current location as well as the battery or fuel level. The Mercedes-Benz App on Apple Watch can also pinpoint the vehicle’s location remotely. A compass mode allows navigation in open areas where mapping is unavailable.
In addition, owners can use the app to check that the windows are closed properly after leaving the vehicle and even lock/unlock the vehicle remotely.
Mercedes-Benz owners in Europe will be the first to enjoy this new digital experience, followed by those in the USA, China and Asia-Pacific markets.
