There are many ways that couples express their love for each other and in the case of this wealthy pair, one of the ways has been with a specially commissioned Spectre, the first fully electric model from Rolls-Royce which was launched in October 2022.
Known as the Spectre Soulmate, it is a deeply personal Bespoke car that embodies the love, achievements, and shared journey of the couple. Various elements reflect the symbolism woven into the couple’s life and shared story. These details are referenced with an elegant blend of expressive statements and subtle references, discernible only to the couple.
The exterior of the Spectre Soulmate is presented in a two-tone Dark Emerald finish, with an upper section in Black, accented by a single hand-painted Seashell coachline — a colour combination selected by the couple’s daughter, adding another layer of personal significance.
Admirers from the age of 10
For the couple, this special car marks the realisation of an ambition held for 45 years. Their admiration for Rolls-Royce began at the age of 10, when they exchanged letters with the marque’s Chief Executive — an early connection that ultimately led them to become associated with the brand by becoming owners.
Born in Kuala Lumpur
Their bond is even more remarkable as they were born in the same hospital just 3 days apart. The special date, marking the beginning of their life journey together, is engraved on the air vent on the driver’s side. A close look at the inscription will show that they were born in Kuala Lumpur on a day in March 1969.
A Bespoke Starlight Headliner on the ceiling depicts the night sky as it appeared over Kuala Lumpur on the day their life story began, with running-stitch embroidery highlighting each constellation.
The passenger-side air vent is inscribed with the commission date and coordinates of the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood, England. Further celebrating their partnership, illuminated treadplates bear the couple’s names — his on the driver’s side, hers on the passenger’s.
The Spectre had a starting price of RM2 million when it was launched in Malaysia in September 2023. Until the end of 2025, it can be purchased duty-free as the government provides full tax-exemption for fully electric vehicles.
