After the LYRIQ, Cadillac’s first EV which went on sale in July last year in America and China, the carmaker will launch its second EV called the OPTIQ in 2024.
The new crossover SUV will smaller than the LYRIQ and will be positioned at entry-level to the brand’s luxury EV range with pricing below the US$64,000 (RM300,000) level of the LYRIQ.
Size-wise, the 5-seater OPTIQ would be smaller than the 4996 mm long LYRIQ. Technical details are not available yet although it should also use GM’s Ultium technology which is intended for use by all the new EVs of the corporation’s brands.
Cadillac aims to sell only EVs by 2030 while its parent company has set 2035 as its target.
