With the MC20 Notte, Maserati is introducing its first limited edition of its super V6 sportscar. 50 units of the exclusive edition created by the Maserati Fuoriserie team will be available for sale globally.
The unique bodywork turns from a glossy black shade to a magnetic matte ‘nero essenza’ hue ready to glow in the dark. Details such as the Trident, the side logos and the Maserati signature go from silver to matte white gold, reigniting the brand’s glorious motorsport memories.
To celebrate the launch of the Maserati MC20 Notte Edition in Modena, Italy yesterday, global brand ambassador and MC20 enthusiast David Beckham and Andrea Bertolini, Maserati reference driver and former GT1 world champion with the Trident, are the stars of an engaging short film. In it, Beckham’s dazzling MC20 is transformed into a new racing creature blazing through the night across the city and on the racetrack.
Fuoriserie is Maserati’s customisation program which offers customers various options to make their car even more exclusive. It revives a facet of car-making from yesteryear when each unit was hand-built and therefore could be made to specific requests by the customer and be a true ‘fuoriserie’, which is the Italian word for ‘custom-made’. Beckham was among the first MC20 owners to use the program to personalise his car two years ago.
The MC20, which was launched in 2020, is largely a Maserati development with an engine that was developed and made in-house. This is the Nettuno, a 3-litre 90-degree V6 twin-turbo powerplant with an output of 620 bhp/730 Nm.
In producing the sportscar, Maserati has set an output of 1,400 units a year, the number allowing a focus on quality. There are two versions – the MC20 and MC20 Cielo – which are both made at the carmaker’s production plant in Modena, Italy.
The MC20 arrived in Malaysia in June 2022 with a pricetag of RM1.078 million (excluding duties and insurance), with the topless Cielo spyder version making its appearance recently and priced from RM1.2 million.
