Suzuki concepts at the Japan Mobility Show 2023

At the Japan Mobility Show 2023 (formerly Tokyo Motor Show) to be held at the end of this month, Suzuki will display a number of concept models, one of which is expected to be the basis of the next Swift generation.

Here’s a preview of four of the concept models:

Suzuki eVX concept [2023]
The eVX is Suzuki’s first global strategic EV. This concept was actually displayed earlier in the year at India’s Auto Expo 2023. However, since then, the designers have evolved the exterior (perhaps based on feedback from visitors) and the interior will also be visible for the first time. Designed as an electric SUV, the eVX has a length of 4300 mm, width of 1800 mm and height of 1600 mm. It will have advanced electronically-controlled 4×4 technologies and engineers target a range of 500 kms.
Suzuki eWX [2023]
This crossover eWX concept adopts the mini wagon form that Suzuki is strongly associated with, but with a futuristic appearance. The ‘buddy-like’ presence supports people’s daily lives with a clean and simple body shape that has a friendly character. The light and user-friendly cabin space has been configured to give a homely feeling. Measuring 3395 mm long, 1475 mm wide and 1620 mm tall, the eWX is said to be able to go 230 kms on a single battery charge.
Suzuki Spacia Concept [2023]
The Spacia concept proposes a minicar which has a unique styling and spacious cabin. This concept model demonstrates Suzuki’s wish to ’Make daily lives more fun, convenient, and comfortable!’. The comfort of the rear occupants is enhanced by a ‘multi-use flap’ in the front section of the seat cushion. This idea is being used in a Suzuki vehicle for the first time.
Suzuki Swift Concept [2023]
The next generation of the Swift should be due soon as the current third generation was launched in 2017. As is often the practice, Japanese carmakers will show a model that is almost production-ready but refer to it as a ‘concept’. The Swift concept at the Japan Mobility Show thus gives an idea of what the fourth generation will look like, and Suzuki is proposing a ‘new value’ for the hatchback. With a shift from tangible consumption to experiential consumption, the Swift Concept not only provides ‘design’ and ‘drive’, but also proposes new value of ‘have fun with the car and daily lives’. It will come with a host of advanced safety technologies including Dual Sensor Brake Support II, Adaptive High Beam System, and a Driver Monitoring System.
