The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest (DCAC) is more than just a competition, the DCAC is about igniting the dreams of a generation and inspiring them to envision a brighter future. Since 2004, Toyota Motor Corporation has inspired nearly 9.4 million children from 144 countries and regions to unleash the power of their imagination. Some of these may be tomorrow’s engineers, designers, and creative thinkers in the auto industry.
Toyota believes in ‘Producing Happiness for All’, and is committed to creating a society where people can dream of a brighter future and believe in the power of creativity as the driving force. This contest gives children a platform to express their hopes and their vision for the future, all through the lens of their dream car. It is a chance for them to not only dream big but to believe that those dreams can take shape.
For the 2025 edition, which is the 18th time that TMC has run the global contest, the theme is ‘Your Dream Car’. In collaboration with its overseas distributors such as UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) in Malaysia, children from the ages of 7 to 15 years old were invited to submit entries during the months of November and December 2024 and January 2025.
Over 3,200 submissions
As in the previous year, UMWT (which began running the contest in 2013) received an overwhelming number of entries from all over the country. 3,243 artworks were received and with UMWT’s new initiative which sees a collaboration with the State Education Department, there was also significant participation from government schools.

“At UMW Toyota, we believe in cultivating the creativity and imagination of our future generations. The Dream Car Art Contest embodies this belief, allowing children to express their unique perspectives on mobility and their dreams for the world. It is truly inspiring to witness their passion and see how they envision a brighter future through their art. This contest resonates deeply with our commitment to not only building great cars but also contributing to a society where dreams can take flight,” said Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMW Toyota Motor.
The top 3 artworks from each of the 3 categories will be submitted for the World Contest in Japan, in which they will compete against other young artists around the globe. The World Contest judging will take place from April to June 2025, and the announcement of the global winners will take place in August 2025.
